A dish is
made of
things.
Run a café on an ordinary shop plugin and the stock figure never moves, because nothing called cheeseburger was ever in the stockroom. Buns, patties and cheese slices were, and only a till that understands that can tell you what a dish costs.
Stock that
never moves.
Sell four hundred burgers and a shop plugin records four hundred sales of a product it has no stock figure for. Meanwhile the buns are running out and nothing on any screen said so until somebody looked in the freezer.
What stops happening
- A stock figure that never moves because dishes are not products
- Working out the margin on a dish from last month’s invoices
- Tickets on paper spikes, with no way to see which one is going cold
- Four separate sales for one table because the till has no tab
- Guessing when to reorder because nothing counts down as dishes sell
Front of house,
back of house.
Nested recipes
Burger sauce is itself mayonnaise, ketchup and paprika. Sell one burger and every level underneath it comes out of stock, at what those ingredients cost today.
Tables and open tabs
A tab belongs to a table, stays open across courses and closes as one sale — not as four sales that happened near each other.
Modifiers
No onions, extra cheese, oat milk. Priced or free, and carried through to the kitchen ticket so the cook sees what the customer said.
A kitchen screen, not a ticket printer
A wall monitor that reloads itself — meant to be read from feet away by somebody holding a pan, not squinted at. Orders colour as they sit, so nobody reads a timestamp to know which table has been waiting.
Order types
Eat in, takeaway and delivery separate in the day’s figures without anybody remembering to tag anything.
Split the bill
One tab, several tenders — cash from one person, a card from another, all recorded against the same sale.
Every feature on this page is part of the paid restaurant module. The free core is a till and Stock Central — it does not do tables, tabs, modifiers, the kitchen screen or recipes.
For this trade.
Do recipes have to be flat?
What does a dish cost?
Does the kitchen screen need special hardware?
Is any of this in the free core?
Sell a burger,
a bun leaves the stockroom.
The restaurant module is a paid add-on. It runs on the same till and the same stockroom as the rest of the suite — but it is not in the free core.
